In Transit Cannot Be Held A gesture of holding, both physical and material, begins to falter in its attempt to secure a sense of place. A hand tightens around the rail as the train carries everything forward, reaching for something steady, something to hold onto. Yet nothing remains still long enough to be kept. The surface shifts, the image resists being fixed, and what feels momentarily grasped begins to loosen. Transferred onto a material that disrupts permanence, the work stages a negotiation between stability and transience, where attempts to anchor oneself within movement remain unresolved. The gesture lingers. Not as control, but as desire. An attempt to stay with something that is already moving on. Here, holding becomes fragile. Contact does not settle, and what is touched cannot be fully held.

Unaccounted For This photograph documents an abandoned building in my village in India, a structure whose original function is now unknown. Left unused and gradually weathered by time, the building exists in a state of suspension, neither fully present nor entirely gone. Its surfaces bear traces of labour, occupation, and neglect, yet resist clear narration. The image reflects an interest in spaces that fall outside official records, where purpose has faded but material presence remains. In its stillness, the building holds a quiet beauty alongside an unsettling absence, becoming a site where memory, uncertainty, and inherited histories intersect. #fineartphotography #photography #artist #photographer #artwork
